Laraine Deer

Emotive and contemplative the park at night is undisturbed. Quiet after the days activities, it is at rest. The park's illumination gives rise to a space of presence and absense. I record what I see with my digital lens which later, discloses images of indistinct marks, fractures and colour variations. But ultimately back in the studio it is the language of paint that enables the fullness of the story to unfold. What facinates me most is the infusion of experiential and digital that is revealed in the paintings.
